What Happens During AUM: A Journey Through Emotions.

The AUM Meditation (Awareness Understanding Meditation) is one of the most transformative group processes ever created. It takes participants on a guided journey through the full spectrum of human emotion — from rage to laughter, fear to love, silence to joy.

The Structure

AUM unfolds in 14 distinct stages, each expressing a specific emotion or energy. You might scream, cry, dance, hug, look into someone’s eyes, or sit in silence. Each phase builds on the last — allowing emotions to rise, express, and release in a safe, structured way.

The Purpose

Most of us live only within a narrow emotional range — suppressing anger, hiding sadness, or fearing vulnerability. AUM gives permission to feel everything in one contained space. It’s not therapy; it’s experiential freedom.

When you express fully, nothing stays stuck. The body becomes lighter, the heart opens, and you begin to see others not as strangers but as reflections of yourself.

The Energy

In the beginning, emotions can feel raw. But as the process unfolds, the energy shifts — from intensity to connection, from chaos to compassion. By the time you reach the silent stages, a profound sense of peace and unity fills the room.

The Integration

AUM ends with silence and meditation — the space where everything settles. You might feel expanded, calm, or tender. Every time you participate, you peel off another layer of protection and meet yourself more deeply.

AUM is not about perfection — it’s about truth. It reminds you that your anger, fear, laughter, and love all belong. When you stop rejecting parts of yourself, you return to wholeness.
